Geomonitoring was originally a concept of engineering geodesy, which means the automatic measurement and detection of deformations. Meanwhile the concept is not only associated with all kinds of deformation measurement, but has also extended over the geodetic area of application and today is used for monitoring or supervision of all components of the earth.
Geomonitoring
Range Of Services
- Structural monitoring
- Monitoring of buildings while constructing activities in the surrounding
- Monitoring of buildings while subterranean constructing activities
- Monitoring of sheet pilings while excavation works
- Monitoring of dams
- Geodetic measurements for tunnel construction
- Monitoring of the tunnel´s outer shell
- Monitoring of ducts
- Monitoring of the surface
- Long-term monitoring
- Monitoring of the ground surface at different gas holders
- Monitoring in case of changing the level of the groundwater
- Monitoring of bridges
Automatic Geomonitoring system GMS.NeVi
The system GMS.NeVi (GeoMonitoringSystem mit Netzausgleich und Visualisierung) is a modular, automatically and permanently measuring monitoring system for the timely detection of endangered objects or terrain areas (settlements, elevations, horizontal movements, inclinations, etc.)
Ideally the system is used where manual surveys or deformation measurements do not seem sensible or possible because of the economic efficiency or accessibility. Thus the system is suited e.g. for the monitoring of internal-urban areas and objects during the railway construction, for bridges, dams, for the monitoring of existing traffic routes and tunnels in progress of extension measures, for the observation of slides, etc.
Features GMS.NeVi:
- Permanent, high-precision online-monitoring for all sizes of deformation areas
- Automatic evaluation and visualisation of settlements, elevations, horizontal movements and coordinate change in real-time
- Integration of geodesic sensors as e.g. inclination transducer, extensometer, temperature transmitter etc.
- Linked calculation of all measured values using the methods of the compensation calculation
- Bridging structure of big areas without reference points through a network of automatic total stations
- Simple and flexible expansion of the system by measuring new points or installing new transducers
- Adaptation of the observation intervals on site or by means of remote access
- Alarm function for all observed deformation points and transducers
- Access to results and visualisations by means of web browser via secure internet connections
- Central data storage and data position in a database management system (DBMS) on the GMS server
Wherever the design of the automatic geomonitoring system does not seem appropriate (for example, if only a few measuring poles are required, the time interval between the measurement is very large, etc.), KOPA also offers the possibility of measuring 3D deformation measurements or consolation measurements manually with tachymeters and digital levels.
